I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Paulista State University in Brazil. My Master’s degree and my ongoing Ph.D. are in Cell and Molecular Biology within the Insect Cytogenomic Group, under the supervision of Prof. Diogo C. Cabral de Mello. Last year, I completed an internship at Arizona State University in the USA under the supervision of Prof. Maria Vibranovski.
In the González lab, I am conducting an internship project to investigate the potential role of B chromosomes on the modification of transcriptional patterns of transposable elements in the Drosophila melanogaster germline. This research project aligns with the overall goals of my doctoral project, titled “Molecular content, patterns of epigenetic modifications, and interference of supernumerary chromosomes in Drosophila melanogaster.”
