We are very happy to have had the opportunity to contribute to this study linking chromosomal inversions with obesity-related diseases. We were also able to shed light on the molecular mechanisms underlying these associations and we found that inversions are associated with changes of expression of several genes and inversion breakpoints disrupt genes and regulatory regions.
